Who are we?

SPYS.Int (short for SPYS International) knows its origins to the initiative of a group of young people curious and passionate about voluntary work. Seeing that many young people were seeking to participate in similar experiences, SPYS.Int was formally launched in 2005, with the aim of preparing formation sessions to help prepare young people for voluntary work abroad.

Originally, SPYS.Int was sending volunteers to various Salesian homes in India, however over the years, new contacts were made in Africa and later on in South America too. For some years, SPYS.Int was also organising groups to perform voluntary work together as a group.

Today, SPYS.Int is still carrying out its formation program to individuals who seek to experience voluntary work abroad. Over the years the program was developed further, in order to address the current needs of the welcoming projects and the volunteers themselves. The program seeks to prepare volunteers culturally, emotionally and on a practical level, providing sessions on leadership, teamwork, creating sessions and the Salesian pedagogy of working with young people.

This project has been funded by the Small Initiatives Support Scheme (SIS) managed by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS).
